HOW YOU CAN HELP
Review your EOBs, Explanation of Benefits, from your insurance company. Quite often they request information from you such as accident details or Coordination of Benefits, COB. COB is a request from your insurance company to find out if you have any other insurance coverage. Most of the time, you can simply call your insurance company and give the requested information over the phone. However, until you provide them with the requested information, the claims will not be processed and will be your responsibility.
Be familiar with your benefits. Take the time to review your insurance policy, find out if you have deductibles, coinsurance or anything else that might fall under your responsibility. This knowledge will help you to make educated decisions in seeking medical care.
UNDERSTANDING YOUR INSURANCE
WHAT IS TEXAS HEALTH EMERGENCY ROOM?
Texas Health Emergency Room, a department of Texas Health Hospital, is a freestanding emergency room. We function just like a hospital based emergency room. Our facility is staffed 24/7 with board-certified physicians, ER trained registered nurses and includes an on-site lab and a full radiology suite with CT, digital x-ray, and ultrasound.
Do You Accept My Insurance?
Texas Health ER accepts all insurance including commercial insurance, Medicare, Medicaid, and Tricare.
HOW MUCH WILL THIS COST?
Texas Health ER charges rates comparable to hospital emergency rooms including a facility fee. Most health insurance plans require a copay, deductible, and co-insurance for an emergency room visit. We will accept an initial payment at the time of service, and then claims will be submitted to your insurance carrier to be applied towards your emergency department benefits.
ARE YOU IN-NETWORK WITH MY INSURANCE COMPANY?
Texas Health ER is in-network with most major insurance carriers. The physicians treating you may not participate in your health benefit plan's provider network.
WILL I RECEIVE BILLS FROM ANY OTHER PHYSICIANS OR LABS?
Your insurance will receive two claims, one from the ER physician examining you, and one from the facility. If you have an ultrasound, X-ray or CT scan performed, an additional claim will be filed from the radiologist who read your image.
